Climate Change? Is it real or are politicians pulling our leg? They hope they can get us to believe that something bad is going to happen to our environment so they can control our lives and we will do whatever they tell us to do. Are we so gullible, that we will allow the politicians to control us, dictate to us, tell us how to live, tell us where we can or can not go? I expect they will make us jump through hoops to get a permit to do mundane things we used to take for granted. Geez! Do I have to have a permit or license to do that?
Lets look at the history of how politicians used climate to control your lives. Forty to fifty years ago in the seventies there were two camps, one predicting global cooling and the other predicting global warming. Initially the global cooling camp was predominate. we were told global cooling was taking place and one third of the northern United States will soon be covered with ice twelve months of the year. Were they ever wrong! That never happened.
Eventually the global warming camp came to the forefront. Oh my! The glaciers were going to melt. New York was going to be flooded. The farm land along the coasts would be flooded. Food would be in short supply! This is what the politicians said would happen unless we allowed them to control our lives and limit fossil fuels. The culprit, we were told was too much carbon dioxide, causing a greenhouse effect. The politicians passed laws like the cafe standards for cars regulating materials, when burned, emitted carbon dioxide. Of course the cost of these regulations is borne by you with higher prices and no increase in performance.
Really CO2! How are we going to heat our homes, cook our food. Oh yeah! Remember burning creates CARBON DIOXIDE. Electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels. Rolling brown outs will happen to cut down on the use of fossil fuels. Are we going to have to burn candles for light. Candles are going to cost $5.00 a piece because of the carbon tax politicians are going to put on them. Get the picture!
How are levels of carbon dioxide measured? Models are used to compute the levels of carbon dioxide. There are computer programs which accept data and give out results. It is impossible to accurately measure the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere several miles high and around the earth. It is too big and massive and the air keeps moving giving different readings continually. Don’t be fooled, the results are only estimates and are not accurate.
The massive forest fires in the west and Canada released tons of carbon dioxide. Nothing seems to be said about the amount of carbon dioxide released to the atmosphere. Could their silence mean they don’t know?
Carbon dioxide has a natural cycle changing to oxygen and carbon. Oxygen and carbon are combined by combustion. Vegetation takes in carbon dioxide and through photosynthesis separates the carbon and oxygen, keeping the carbon releasing oxygen. You would think with the massive forest fires, creating large amounts of carbon dioxide and destroying acres and acres of forests (vegetation) the greenhouse effect with all that carbon dioxide, there would be some noticeable warning.
Global cooling didn’t work. Neither did global warming happen either. So now what are the politicians going to do? The politicians needed to do something to keep and increase control over you, your family and friends. The politicians got together, scratched their heads and came up with a plan they thought would be foolproof. It would be called climate change. Climate Change would cover all contingencies including global cooling and warming and any other bizarre changes in the weather.
A little about my observations. I have lived in central Wisconsin all my life. I can remember back about seventy years. Every year there were several outdoor ice rinks around the city which opened in about the middle December and closed the first part of March. This time frame happened every year. If the politicians were correct, the ice skating season would have become increasing shorter, but they didn’t. The same type of season was experienced by the local ski hill. Except, about sixty years ago the ski area started making snow. The temperatures didn’t change but the ski outings became predictable. These are my observations, not scientific. Here is an experiment you can try. On a sunny and windy day, put a thermometer in a sheltered place were the sun shines on it. After awhile take the thermometer out of it’s sheltered place and move to a place we’re the sun shines on it and the wind is free to blow on it. You will find a temperature difference Now how are you or anybody else going to get a accurate temperature of the atmosphere though out the whole earth? So it comes down to this. A politician will tell will anything and do anything to keep you under their control, even using force if they can get away with it. Tell a lie often enough and loud enough and you will believe it.
